Reflection on previous conference.

PHILIPSBURG--NPOwer’s Connect and Inspire Conference, set for February 23 to 25, can count on financial support from major funding agencies Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben SFC, St. Maarten Development Fund (SMDF) and Resources for Community Resilience R4CR.

The conference aims to bring together non-profit organisations (NPOs) and stakeholders to build and strengthen the capacity of the non-profit sector.

Thanks to the collaboration through funding, the conference is expected to have a significant impact allowing participants to experience quality knowledge-building experiences. SFC’s Fleur Hermanides expressed her excitement about the event, saying, “SFC is happy to be a part of, and a supporter of such a great event in which NPOs get the opportunity to strengthen their capacity to network, foster relationships, gain insights, and get inspired on how they can better provide services and cater to the needs of their target groups.”

The conference, which will be held at Belair Community Center and St. Dominic High School is set to host local and regional representatives of NPOs and various stakeholders to share their knowledge and experiences to strengthen the capacity of the non-profit sector.

SMDF’s Managing Director Makhicia Brooks stated that the conference aligns with their vision. “SMDF is pleased to be a partner in the realization of the NPOwer Conference as the conference aligns with our desires to further provide financial and nonfinancial support to the invaluable non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that provide vital services to our community.”

R4CR’s Team Leader Steve Duzanson fully supports NPOwer/Foresee Foundation with the upcoming NGO conference, saying: “Capacity strengthening is one of the main pillars of the R4CR programme and would not be possible without the collaborative effort between R4CR and NPOwer.”

The conference is free for two representatives from St. Maarten-based organisations registered on NPOwersxm.com. Persons or organisations not directly affiliated with NPOwer are asked to contribute US $50 per person per day. To register, visit npowersxm.com click on the blue tab “Conference 2023”.
