Fourth quarter ends with NAf. 1.4 million surplus

PHILIPSBURG--Government recorded a NAf. 1,486,692 surplus at the end of the fourth and final quarter of 2015.

Based on numbers provided to Parliament by Finance Minister Richard Gibson on Tuesday, Government collected at total income of NAf. 438,734,199 in the fourth quarter. That number breaks down to taxes and excise NAf. 355,411,458, permits fees NAf. 14,783,700; concessions and fees Naf. 44,432,377 and other income NAf. 24,106,664.

Government cost for the fourth quarter amounted to NAf. 437,247,507. Those cost were personnel cost NAf. 190,913,711; goods and services NAf. 98,571,269; social services NAf. 21,443,581; depreciation NAf. 8,417,171; subsidies and transfer NAf. 101,989,902, scholarship NAf. 3,156,811 and interest NAf. 12,755,061.
