PHILIPSBURG--The Fire Fighters Foundation (FFF) on Monday handed over US $5,769 to the Philipsburg Jubilee Library as part of its save the library fundraiser held during Fireman’s Week.
In an effort to raise even more funds for the library, the foundation is selling wristbands for $3 each.
Representatives of the FFF handed over the cheque to the library’s board. The FFF said it is not yet done with the library. The foundation believes that the library can be much more than a place where persons can enjoy reading a good book. “We are still raising funds in form of wristbands that can be purchased from FFF board members and soon at the different schools for only $3 each.”
The wristbands come in white or red with the words “Save the Library” on them.

The FFF thanks everyone who contributed to making its Fireman’s Week a successful one in which much-needed funds for the library were raised.
The board of the FFF was formed in 1985. It was established to bring firefighters and the community together and ensure that the foundation can assist with community projects and provide financial assistance and other related support services to the needy.
Current members of the foundation are President Glenn Macnack; Vice President Eric Chase; Secretary Marisela Gomez; Vice Secretary Christopher Schoop; Treasurer Swendi Angel; Vice Treasurer Keith Fleming and Board Member Jermaine Levons.
