The Daily Herald marked Dutch Caribbean Press Day on September 1 with a lunch and recognition of five employees who have worked for the company for a decade.
Publisher/Managing Director Paul De Windt commended the staff and urged them to continue to bring the news factually and credibly to the public it serves in St. Maarten/St. Martin, the surrounding islands and further afield. He said in spite of the challenging times facing newspapers worldwide, The Daily Herald continues to thrive in the face of online growth. The newspaper's board annually honours staffers who have worked for the company for 10 years. Honoured were Journalist John van Kerkhof, reception staffer Ethlyn Joubert and newspaper assemblers Beatrice Dessources, Juana Valenzuela, and Adelaida de Jesus Chevalier Vasquez. The honourees are seen with The Daily Herald management.
