CAYHILL--The St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) bid farewell to Paediatrician Dr. Pieter Offringa after service of 26 years during a ceremony held last week at SMMC. The well-wishing ceremony included remarks from Medical Director Dr. Felix Holiday, Nursing Educator Brunilda Illidge, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Supervisor Nurse Sherryl Carty-Fleming and many others who have all worked with Dr. Offringa for a number of years.

“Dr. Offringa’s tenure at SMMC spanned an exciting and memorable 26 years and many of the memories shared had a central theme of him going above and beyond for his patients, the children of St. Maarten and their parents, many of whom now have children themselves,” SMMC said in a press release on Wednesday.

Dr. Offringa has been succeeded by Paediatricians, Dr. Martijn Tilanus and Dr. Thibisay Morvan-Navas, both of whom have already been practicing at the hospital.

Management of SMMC thanks Dr. Offringa for his years of service and dedication to the children of St. Maarten and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
