Preparations are well underway for Carnival 50 and St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) has moved into the Festival Village. The outdoor theatre will be transformed into “the Caribbean’s biggest kitchen” come Saturday, April 20 with the opening Jump-Up. Booth-holders can now set up their businesses and village workers were seen readying the location on Monday afternoon. SCDF’s office there is open Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The Daily Herald’s Golden Anniversary Carnival Special will appear on Wednesday, April 17.
