PHILIPSBURG--The St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry (COCI) lauded More Fun More Laughter Foundation, which organises the annual “Laugh ’Til Belly Burst” SXM Comedy Festival for offering businesses on both sides of the island an opportunity to purchase booklets of raffle tickets for their staffs.

“As the island continues to recover, some form of laughter is always good for the soul and a good cheer-up if you are feeling down,” COCI said in a press release on Tuesday.

COCI said the grand raffle contains “some great prizes,” including a vacation to New York City. The raffle will be drawn on June 8.

Representatives of More Fun More Laughter Foundation met with representatives of the Dutch St. Maarten and French St. Martin Chambers of Commerce and Industry, which both support the initiative.

The 15th edition of Laugh ’Til Belly Burst SXM Comedy Show will be held at Princess Port de Plaisance and Casino on Friday and Saturday, June 7 and 8.

The show will be headlined by American comedian and actor Tommy Davidson of the comedy series “In Living Color”. A number of comedians from Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and the United Kingdom will also entertain patrons at the show. Local radio personality Gary “Gee Money” Euton will be the emcee.
