PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry (COCI) on Monday announced the names of the ten finalists in its Small Business Plan Competition.
The finalists are Sherma Noble, Elurya Leverock, Crystal James, Yannick Hodge, Shawn York, Shasa Lake, Murline Peterson Lundi, Nalaysha Agard, Jentrite Felix and Sabrina Vrutaal. These persons will move on to the next round, where they will pitch their business plans to a panel of selected judges representing a wide cross-section of the business community.
Candidates will have twenty minutes to pitch their plans and answer any questions the judges may have. Finalists will vie for top honours for Best Marketing, Best Pitch, Best Brand, Most Likely to Become Successful and Overall Winner categories.
The Grand Prize includes a Starter’s Package of professional services and start-up equipment, generously donated by various businesses on the island, valued at US $2,000. Winners will be announced at a closing reception to be held in celebration of World Entrepreneurs’ Day on Friday, August 21, at the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber thanked all the business that contributed goods, prizes and services for the competition.
