THE HAGUE--Migdala Rose-Ann Clarinda is the new member on the Council for Law Enforcement on behalf of St. Maarten.
The Kingdom Council of Ministers during its monthly meeting on Friday approved a proposal to appoint Clarinda. She will replace former St. Maarten Island Governor Franklyn Richards, who had to resign from the Council late 2018 after serving the maximum two consecutive terms of four years each. The law stipulates that a member of the Council can serve no more than eight years.
Richards’ successor, Clarinda, studied law at University of Leiden and specialised in International and European Law. She worked for the St. Maarten government as legal policy officer and later as secretary of the Advisory Council. She also worked at Princess Juliana International Airport in legal and general management positions.
