Interior of Carrefour Cole Bay
COLE BAY--Another major sign of economic recovery and investor confidence will be highlighted on Wednesday when the Cole Bay location of Carrefour Supermarket throws its doors open to the public again, under two months ahead of Hurricane Irma’s two-year mark.
The supermarket has undergone a complete refurbishment on its exterior and interior to wipe away the devastation wrought on the building in the monster hurricane and thereafter by lawless looters.
The reopening as of 9:00am means shoppers in Cole Bay and Simpson Bay as well as their environs and across the border to Marigot and beyond again have another option for groceries and other items.
Carrefour St. Maarten announced the opening of location via its Facebook page on Monday afternoon. This news was met with comments of “great news” and “congratulations.”
