Carols and comfort

Comforters group and Golden Rock Carollers in St. Eustatius received a musical organ, a standing speaker and various musical accessories to aid their community and music-sharing work from Prins Bernhard Culture Fund.

The instrument was blessed by Carol Carty, after which it was played by groups’ leader Marcella Gibbs-Marsdin to accompany singers and Walton “Lord Gene” Schmidt on guitar. Comforters come together to offer sympathy in songs to people who lost loved ones. The Carollers sing a mix of music and they keep the tradition of Christmas carolling alive. The group’s leader thanked the fund and extended her appreciation to Ivan Rivers and Clive Spanner and Son for setting up the items.
