Carnival on

According to St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) President Alston Lourens, Government signed the NAf. 350,000 subsidy for Carnival on Tuesday evening and the funds will be transferred to SCDF later this week. The Foundation expressed concern earlier in the week about the time it was taking to get the funds it needed to complete organising the island’s biggest festival set for next month. Lourens reassured the public on Tuesday that Carnival is on and he expects to get the public’s continued support for this Carnival season.
