These Hurricane Irma-damaged pelican statues at the airport roundabout continue to greet visitors and residents.
The statues withstood the wind, rain and flying debris in the monster storm on September 6, 2017. However, nothing has been done since then to repair the statues that are replicas of St. Maarten's national bird – the Brown Pelican.
