PHILIPSBURG--The body of a missing person was discovered on A.Th. Illidge Road, Dutch Quarter, on Saturday morning.
While walking on the sidewalk, a person noticed the lifeless body in the ditch and immediately called Emergency Services for assistance just after 7:00am Saturday.
The Detective and Fire Departments, along with Ambulance officials went to the scene and saw that a partially dressed man was lying in the trench and seemed to be lifeless. On investigation, police learned that the man had been reported missing on Friday afternoon.
Police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said police are looking into the situation and no additional information can be given at this time.
The body was transferred to a funeral home and the family of the man contacted.
