Altercation between students turns bloody

PHILIPSBURG--The St. Maarten Police Force KPSM and the Ambulance Department were called to Voges Street in Philipsburg on Thursday afternoon because of a stabbing that occurred in the vicinity of Sundial School.

  The Daily Herald understands that an altercation between at least two students turned bloody, which resulted in at least one student being stabbed. Police have not confirmed the number of students involved or the school(s) in which they are enrolled.

  However, police have confirmed that one student was arrested and another was treated at the scene by personnel of the Ambulance Department and then taken to St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) for further medical care.

  The injured student’s condition was unknown up to press time Thursday night.
