Agri-cultural market on St. Peters streets

Local produce on display and on sale at Sunday’s Market Day and Music Festival in St. Peters.

 

 

ST. PETERS--The streets of St. Peters were transformed into an open-air produce market and agri-cultural manifestation Sunday, organised by the St. Peters Community Garden Research and Development Centre, which operates a community garden in the area.

Rupert Maynard Community Centre and its immediate vicinity was the epicentre for healthy lifestyle and food enthusiasts. The Market Day and Music Festival included a number of activities and entertainment for all ages throughout the day and brought awareness about health and agriculture through demonstrations and lectures.

  There were a number of food vendors and demonstrations of a backyard garden, an aquaponics system and a detoxing station.

  Various speakers gave lectures about different topics such as agricultural awareness, waste management and herbal health awareness.
