A thousand smiles

NAGICO Insurances ended Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a donation to Positive Foundation via its “1,000 Smiles Project.”

The undisclosed amount is to help the foundation assist St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) to purchase a mammogram machine. Positive Foundation President Shelly Alphonso said NAGICO has been a consistent partner: “We are grateful for their unwavering support.” The machine is a vital part of the “Be Breast Aware” campaign, but was unavailable at SMMC. NAGICO stepped in and said it was “pleased to be able to help provide women the opportunity to get tested on the Dutch side.” Positive and Elektralyets Foundations in collaboration SMMC have agreed to extend the 100 free mammogram vouchers programme into 2019, as the mammography machine was only ordered late October.
