SMS lottery appeal held

WILLEMSTAD--The appeal case between Smartplay of lottery boss Robbie dos Santos and United Telecommunication Services (UTS) was provisionally held. Dos Santos still has not paid the court fee of NAf. 15,000.

Smartplay provided SMS lotteries in St. Maarten and Dos Santos wants UTS to facilitate this under their existing contract. However, the Curaçao-based government-owned company in which St. Maarten also has a minority share does not want this and the Court in First Instance agreed.

Dos Santos must pay up before August 14 for the appeal case to continue.
