DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 900 AM GMT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Paulette was located near latitude 34.7 North, longitude 23.7 West. Paulette is moving toward the east-northeast near 17 mph (28 km/h). An east or east-northeast motion at a slower forward speed is expected through Wednesday. Paulette is then expected to turn southward and southwestward Wednesday night and Thursday.

 

Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is forecast during the next couple of days, and Paulette is expected to become post-tropical by Wednesday night or Thursday.

 

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km) from the center.

 

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).
