   Wilson Sanon retains Best Young Rider overall at Gwad Avenir race

MARIGOT--St. Martin’s Wilson Sanon riding for the Excelsior team claimed the Best Young Rider white jersey overall after the fourth and final stage of the Gwad Avenir Tour cycle race in Guadeloupe.


He finished in 14th place overall in the final stage from Petit Bourg to Petit Bourg in which 12 riders did not finish, was seventh overall in the final standings, and first Junior out of a reduced field of 16 Juniors. Fellow rider from St. Martin Rolandio Lake did not finish the last stage.
In the third stage from Basse Terre to St. Claude, Wilson finished in fifth place out of 39 riders which placed him seventh in the overall standings. He was the second placed Junior to finish the stage and ended up first Junior overall out of 26 riders. Rolandio Lake placed 19th in Juniors and 22nd in the overall Junior standings.
Wilson departs for France on November 4 to join a cycling team, coach Edmond Cocks disclosed.
