Swim records broken at annual Guardian Group Fall Invitational

COLE BAY— Six Carib Swim Team athletes combined to set ten new Carib Swim Team records at the annual Guardian Group Fall Invitational Swim Meet at the Carib Swim Team Pool October 23 to 24.

Also attending the meet was the Super Splash Swim Team.
The two-day format allowed for all events to be offered for each age-group, which in turn allowed for many new personal records, as well as new team records.
Adaya Bourne (13 years) led the way, with three new team records: 1500 free (21.22.07), 200 fly (3:30.52), and 800 free (10:57.24). Not to be outdone, younger sister Aiyana Bourne (10 years) set the new standard in 400 IM (7:45.24).
Gigi Cai (11 years) broke her own record in 200 breast (3:18.73). Arianna Lont (14 years) broke the old record in 50 breast (40.96). Matias Piazza (13 years) broke some aging records in 1500 free (19:38.71) and 200 IM (2:32.49).
Finally, Joey Schvartz (11 years) broke two of his own records in 100 back (1:13.62) and 200 IM (2:37.38). His new 200 IM time, added to a previously set 400 free time, qualifies him for the French National Age Group Championships, to take place in France this December. He is the first swimmer from St. Martin to achieve this! Additionally, his 100 back time was a new 'A' time for him.
New 'BB' time standards were achieved by Adaya Bourne (1500 free), Aiyana Bourne (50 breast, 50 back and 200 free), Gigi Cai (400 free and 400 IM), Arianna Bourne (200 free), Matias Piazza (1500 free and 200 IM), Nico Piazza (50 free, 800 free and 200 breast), Emma Szabo (100 breast), and Daan Vinke (50 back).
New 'B' time standards were achieved by Quentin Guyenot (200 IM), Patrick Szabo (100 back and 100 free), Kjeld Van Der Meer (50 breast), Luuk Vinke (100 free and 100 IM), and Emma Szabo (200 free).
Carib Swim Team's upcoming competitions include The LAB Sports Academy annual Harbor to Pier Open Water Challenge on November 14, CST Fall Pentathlon on November 21, and the CST Holiday Bash December 11-12.
