NAGICO is premium sponsor for  34th Around the Island Relay Race

SIMPSON BAY--On Thursday, November 11, in celebration of Sint Maarten's day, over 500 participants are expected to take part in the annual around-the-island relay run.


  Organiser SXM Road Runners Association encourages persons to sign up for the 34th edition of this highly anticipated event if they haven’t done so already.

  "Join in and run with your colleagues, friends or family in a team of 11 persons. The island relay race is an incredible, sportive, healthy and fun experience to start your Sint Maarten Day celebrations."

  The 2020 event was won by the French-side’s SXtreme Running Club in a time of 2:18:18.
  The premium sponsor of this year's event is NAGICO Insurance.  Other sponsors include Electec, Green Meds, The Windward Island Bank, Belair Beach Hotel, Outdoor World Sint Maarten, PDG, CC1 and Aqua Mania Adventures.

  "Thanks to our sponsors, volunteers and partner Tri-Sport, we can once again organise this well-attended event," SXM Road Runners Association shared in its release.
  There are prizes for the fastest and best-dressed teams who participate in the race. In addition, a “Remarkable Feet”' award will be presented to someone who deserves special recognition for doing the extraordinary.   SXM Road Runners Association added: "This year's slogan is “one of the team, one for the team” as we believe in doing things together, working towards goals and giving back. We look forward to seeing you on November 11!"
  Teams who wish to participate in the island relay race can register at Tri-Sport located in Simpson Bay or Marigot. Registration deadline is Monday, November 8. Entry fee is US200 per team. Briefing for team captains, handing out of batons and race numbers takes place at Tri Sport, Simpson Bay, from November 1 to November 8 from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
