St. Maarten athletes qualify for 2018

 CACCURACAO—Five St. Maarten athletes qualified to compete at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Barranquilla Colombia 2018.


  Already booking their spot are Shamar Thomas, aquatics; Wilfred Chitick, cycling; Ivan Bell and Michaelangelo Bell, judo and Nicole Erato and Kai Piscione triathlon.
  Several more athletes still have a chance to qualify.
  Currently the group is attending the second international training camp organized by the
St. Maarten Sport Federation‘s Promising Athletes (SPA) program.  The first training camp for 2017 was held in Cuba.
   The athletes are now in Curacao in preparation for the qualifying championships to be held in September through November for their respective sports.
