Rene Leveret, from South Reward, is making news in Texas. Playing professional baseball with the Amarillo Thunderheads, Leveret leads his team in Runs Batted in at 41 and with Home Runs at nine.

 "I had back to back days with homerun on Friday and Saturday versus the Joplin Blasters in Missouri," said Leveret. "It was my 9th of the season. Leveret also reports he is third in the league in Home Runs and Fourth in Runs Batted in. Currently the first baseman is batting .265. He has played in 56 games and has had 200 at bats. He has scored 23 runs and connected for 53 hits. He has drawn 17 walks, been hit by pitch twice and struck out 38 times. Finally Leveret reports, "I like it here and already am a fan favourite." He continued, "They are already talking about extending my contract for next year, so that's good."
