Final preparations were underway Thursday to transform Waaigat into a vibrant fan zone for Curaçao's crucial football match against and in Bermuda.
The square was still quiet, but during the match it was expected to be packed with supporters dressed in the national flag colours, backing “The Blue Wave” in their quest for a World Cup 2026 spot. Dick Advocaat's team ended up winning 7-0, while Trinidad & Tobago – Jamaica finished 1-1. A tie in its final game next Tuesday against and in Jamaica will secure Curaçao’s qualification.
