Moto Cross event turns in to mud fest for participants

MARIGOT—The Moto Cross and Quads race day in Bellevue on Sunday was another day of fast and furious action on the course however heavy rain early in the morning made the course extremely slushy and muddy by the time the first of three races were held mid-morning.

That was no problem for the moto cross bikes and quads of course but spectators and stewards on the course were subjected to the occasional mud shower.
By lunch time the course had dried out for the remaining two races with good traction for the riders. An extra loop had been added to the course making the laps longer. There were just three competitors for the Quad category, two from Guadeloupe, one from St. Martin
These were the final Moto Cross results at the end of the day by category: PIWI 1. Aston, 2. June, 3. Clement. Teenagers: 1. Noah, 2. Marine, 3. Charles. National: 1. Sam, 2. Lloyd, 3. Thomas. Elites: 1. Julien, 2. Damien, 3. Christophe.
In the Quads category it was Hubert first, Carl second and Georges third (surnames not given).
SXM Moto Cross Association expressed its appreciation to all the volunteers and marshals, medics and rescuers, DJ The Edge, Christelle, and all the partners for making the event a success.
“With each race we continue to try and improve and evolve for everyone’s enjoyment,” said organisers.
The next races will be on December 4.
