Learning Unlimited and St. Dominic High School win Caribbean Gems Interscholastic Swim Meets

COLE BAY--Caribbean Gems, along with Carib Swim Team, hosted the annual Interscholastic Swim Meets after a two-year COVID related hiatus. The meets were held Sunday at the Carib Swim Team Pool.


In the Elementary School Meet (grades 1 – 6), Learning Unlimited came out on top with 393 points, followed by CIA Montessori with 367 points, and St. Dominic Primary School with 337 points.
Event winners were Aiyana Bourne, Kjeld van der Meer, Tiana Beauperthuy, Natalia Mullen, Sernik Porcasi, Caleb Deher, Yuyu Cai, Carly Critchlow, Liam Van Kooten, Daan Vinke, Kayla Fontenelle, Julia Vriezen, Abhiram Lulla, Luuk Vinke, Daphne Vliegen, Phillip Chang Sing Pang, Amaury de Laguarigue, Amia President, Declan Boyd, Caithlyn Challenger, Sahana Rinker, Arhan Baharani, and Lucas Berman.
The relays were split between four different teams. Sister Magda won the girls 100 free relay, while Sister Regina won the boys 100 free relay. In the 200 free relay Learning Unlimited came out on top in the girl’s event, while CIA Montessori won the boy’s relay.
A special Spirit Award was given to Sister Regina for their constant enthusiasm and cheering.
In the High School Meet (grades 7-12), Saint Dominic High School came out on top with 436 points. They were followed by CIA with 369 points, and College Lycee Victor Hugo with 318 points.
Individual event winners were Saphir Thomas, Micah Sinke, Nigel Fontelle, Maxime Billot, Denecia Prince, Arianna Lont, Quentin Guyenot, Matias Piazza, Laurn Johnson, Benjamin Pocovi, Adaya Bourne, Miles Cheasley, Emma Croes, Nicolas Piazza, and Vadim Malisev.
The four relays were split among three teams, with Milton Peters College winning the girls 200 medley relay, and Learning Unlimited winning the girls 200 free relay. On the men’s side, College Lycee Victor Hugo showed their dominance by winning both the medley and free relays.
Milton Peters College took home the Spirit Award.
