Lake, Sam and Safin Bashir win 11th annual Scramble

MULLET BAY: Sam Bashir, Safin Bashir and Tony Lake took top honors during the annual three person’s team scramble at the Mullet Bay Golf Course scoring a Net 62.


Organized by the St. Maarten Golf Association (SMGA) the 11th annual Scramble drew 17 teams of three golfers to the course on Saturday. All teams fought a very close and competitive battle. Between the winners and the last placing team was only a 10 stroke difference.
The Team of Clive Youlten, Bill Oliver and Steve Oostrom came in second with the same net score as the first team , however placed second due to a lower handicap. In third place was Kasper Lendering, Cyril Pfennings and Gregor with a net score of 64.
In the coming months the SMGA will continue to organize tournaments in a responsible manner with respect to the current pandemic and contribution to youth sports in general.
The St. Maarten Golf Association is a non-profit organization that welcomes all beginning and experienced golfers, tourists and St. Maarten / St. Martin residents alike to become members. Every month the association organizes Scramble matches, Medal Play tournaments as well as the annual St. Maarten Open.
