MARIGOT--Eric Hélan, a member of the ASCESM cycling club, distinguished himself on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the 2025 Gran Fondo de Guadeloupe, held in Capesterre.
On a demanding 112-kilometre course with long climbs, Hélan maintained a steady pace to finish second in the 65–69 age group.
This event, renowned for its intensity and variety of challenges, attracted many riders from Canada, Great Britain, mainland France, and elsewhere. In this challenging context, Eric Hélan’s performance is a testament to his experience and consistency throughout the race.
Thanks to this result, the Saint Martin rider has qualified for the 2026 Gran Fondo World Championships, a major international competition to be held in Japan. He will represent Saint Martin alongside the world's best riders in the discipline.
