ANGUILLA--The exciting round the island boat race on Anguilla Day was won by “De Wizard”. In sec-ond place was “UFO”, followed by “Justice”, “Light and Peace” and “Bush Boys”. Nine A Class boats took part in the race that lasted nearly six hours. There were crowds on the beach at Sandy Ground to watch the finish and much celebration for the winners.

The first prize was EC $10,000, second place received $8,500, third $7,500, fourth $6,500 and fifth place received $5,500. All other boats that competed received $3,000.
In the battle for Boat of the Year, “De Wizard” is now topping the scores so far with 13 points, fol-lowed by “Light and Peace” with eight points and “Satellite” and “Real Deal” with six. There are still many races to come during the Summer Festival August activities.
