Connor said, “Anguilla is very fortunate to have a Governor who is very supportive of Anguilla’s youth, its sports and social development, and that a number of other Overseas Territories commented that they wished their governors were there as well because the best way to further facilitate the development of sports on the islands is to have the representatives of Great Britain attend the games to gain a better understanding of what is required in better develop talented athletes for international competition.”
Rollins Richardson, the General Team Manager, also commented on the outstanding performances of the athletes. He noted that although Anguilla does not have a boxing training facility, the boxers held their own during the mandated 3 round match against formidable opponents.
He also commented that the Anguilla cyclists benefited tremendously from the superb training of a professional cycling coach in Australia who took them to a new level in training.
