ANGUILLA—The Anguilla national team played their first home match in the Concacaf nations’ league against Guatemala on Saturday October 12. A large crowd supported the home team at the Ronald Webster Park.
It was a competitive game with Guatemala taking an early lead with a 2-0 score at half time. They won the match with 5 goals against nil for Anguilla. The Guatemalan team are 133 in the FIFA world rankings compared to Anguilla ranked 209. Governor Tim Foy and Minister Cora Richardson Hodge, congratulated the team and thanked the officials after the game.
The Anguilla team is now preparing for their final home group game today against Puerto Rico.
