Loeb wins fifth Dakar stage, Al-Attiyah stays on top overall

LIMA--Sebastien Loeb won the fifth stage of the Dakar Rally in Peru on Friday while Qatar's Nasser Al-Attiyah extended his overall lead.
  Frenchman Loeb, a nine times world rally champion, beat Al-Attiyah by more than 10 minutes after the 519-km timed stage from Tacna to the city of Arequipa.

Lyon lose ground in battle for second with Reims draw

PARIS- - Olympique Lyonnais lost ground in the race for second spot in Ligue 1 when they were held 1-1 at home by Stade de Reims while second-placed Lille cruised to a 3-1 win at Caen on Friday.

Al-Attiyah extends Dakar lead in Peru

LIMA- - Qatar's Nasser Al-Attiyah extended his Dakar Rally lead on Thursday after winning the fourth stage from Arequipa to Tacna in southern Peru.
