MARIGOT--Despite a participation not as fully subscribed as expected, the second edition of the Albert Rousseau Memorial three-stage cycling race organised by the JCO cycling club took place successfully at the weekend.
Friday’s 2.7Km Time Trial in Hope Estate was won by Xavier Diaz (ASM) with an average speed of 43kmph, followed by Fabien Husson (JCO), and George Kisean (ASM), mere seconds separating the top three riders.
The 63.25K race on Saturday from Sandy Ground to Cupecoy roundabout and back (five laps) was won by Orlan Gumbs (KCU/ASM) in 1:44:54 followed by Delroy Carty (JCO) in second place in 1:45:16, and third George Kisean (ASM) in 1:46:31.
Sundays 36K course race from French Quarter, Oyster Pond, Dutch quarter and back was won in a thrilling sprint for the line between George Kisean (ASM), Stephane Lenoir (JCO) and Fabien Husson (JCO), all three taking the exact same finish time of 1:02:04.
