Jamaican duo arrested in drug bust in Antigua and Barbuda

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua--Law enforcement authorities in Antigua and Barbuda have hit drug dealers hard yet again, this time seizing more than US $130,000 of marijuana and nabbing two Jamaicans.

The Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) reported that Andre Robinson (35) and Prince Caballero (34) were arrested when officers from that agency along with police officers conducted a joint operation and found 88 pounds of compressed marijuana worth EC $352,000 (US $130,370) at a house on the outskirts of the capital.

One of the men attempted to flee, but he was apprehended not far from the area of the operation.

The bust came on the heels of another successful counter-narcotics operation conducted by the ONDCP on May 1 when a 24-year-old Vincentian man Zavique Williams was also arrested and slapped with cannabis charges.

“The ONDCP wishes to thank the public for the information provided in ensuring that illegal drugs are removed from the streets of Antigua and Barbuda, thereby creating a safer environment for our youths,” the agency said. ~ Caribbean360 ~
