Henry Harteveldt to speak during Caribbean Week in New York.

NEW YORK--Airline industry analyst Henry Harteveldt will deliver the keynote address during the Caribbean Marketing Conference on June 3 as part of the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s (CTO) Caribbean Week in New York.

The conference will take place at the InterContinental New York Times Square and forms one of the central events of Caribbean Week, which runs from June 1 to 5.

Harteveldt, founder and president of Atmosphere Research Group, is expected to focus on airline trends and their implications for Caribbean tourism under the theme “Turbulence & Opportunity: Airline Trends and What They Mean for the Caribbean.”

According to organizers, the presentation will examine developments in the U.S. and international airline industry, including route planning, airlift capacity, premium leisure travel demand, airline profitability, and opportunities for Caribbean destinations to strengthen air connectivity.

Harteveldt is considered one of the travel industry’s leading airline analysts and has more than 25 years of experience in aviation, hospitality, and tourism marketing. He previously held positions with Continental Airlines and Fairmont Hotels and is frequently featured in international media including CNBC, Bloomberg, Reuters, and The New York Times.

This year’s conference carries the theme “Unified Partnerships, Stronger Nations: Elevating Caribbean Brands in a Competitive World” and will focus on collaboration, destination branding, innovation, tourism marketing performance, and public-private partnerships.

CTO Foundation Chair Jacqueline Johnson said the conference comes at a critical time for Caribbean tourism as destinations face growing international competition. “Caribbean success will depend on stronger unity, innovative marketing, and bold partnerships that elevate our brands and drive sustainable growth across the region,” Johnson stated.

CTO Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dona Regis-Prosper said the conference provides an important platform for Caribbean leaders to coordinate strategies and address common challenges in the tourism sector.

The programme will also feature sessions on emerging tourism markets such as China, India, and Africa, airlift development, traveler behavior data, and nation branding strategies.

Among the featured speakers are Susan Black of Wowzitude LLC, tourism marketing specialist Bonnie Borkin of Sojern, and representatives from international tourism and development organizations.

A ministerial leadership panel moderated by Cayman Islands Director of Tourism Rosa Harris is also scheduled as part of the event.

During the conference, the CTO Foundation will host its annual awards luncheon recognizing contributors to Caribbean tourism and the organization’s development efforts.

Among the honorees is Jill Stone, who will receive the Jean Holder Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to the organization’s digital infrastructure and online development.

Additional recognitions will be presented to tourism officials, regional tourism executives, and industry partners for their support of Caribbean tourism initiatives and the CTO Foundation.

Caribbean Week in New York is considered the Caribbean region’s premier annual tourism event in the United States and brings together tourism ministers, airline representatives, travel executives, media professionals, and regional stakeholders.

The event is supported by tourism authorities, airlines, hotel groups, cruise organizations, and international tourism partners from across the Caribbean region.
