Dear Editor,
If I were to have my way of addressing the morning traffic situation in the Cul de Sac District on the L.B. Scott Road, and I am not able to ever resolve the alternative access for traffic movement in and out of this area by way of the possible Marigot Hill road to Concordia Marigot or the Weymouth Hill deviation to and from Dutch Quarter, I would propose another solution that would drastically improve the morning traffic flow in the long term through proper spatial planning.
Moving the Academy School/ the Sister Magda Primary School/ the MAC Schools in St. John's and Betty's Estate, along with the LTS/MTS at MPC, out of this District into another District, will not only improve the traffic flow, but will also drastically reduce the school violence that are gangs related in this area. The overcrowding of our students into limited-spaced areas are some of the causes of the problem. It is like clustering a family of six into a one-bedroom apartment. You are just asking for domestic problems.
But while riding on Bus #139 of Mr. Rene Brown, he made a suggestion to me that gates should be placed at the top of the Marigot Hill Road and the Weymouth Hill Road that can be closed from 6.00pm sunset to 6.00am sunrise, avoiding evening flow of traffic through these areas that would minimise crime, maximise control, while guaranteeing night security and safety in these neighbourhoods-
