PHILIPSBURG--The Health Ministry’s Collective Prevention Services (CPS), along with partners, American University of the Caribbean (AUC) School of Medicine and Positive Foundation, urge women 18 years and older to sign up for breast and health screenings which will be held this Saturday, October 28, at the Vineyard Building.

The breast screenings on Saturday will be carried out by an AUC physician and the health screenings by AUC students. The screening will also include gathering the following information: height/weight, blood pressure, blood glucose and blood cholesterol.

In June 2017, the three partners began a breast abnormalities screening study with the aim to screen up to 500 women in a period of one year with the possibility of extending for another year to reach the target number. The purpose of the study is to identify breast abnormalities that can be risk factors for diseases of the breast as early as possible and to refer for further diagnosis and treatment.
