Wisdom book

Minister Plenipotentiary Henrietta Doran-York received a copy of the book “The Akasha Book of Wisdom” from author St. Maartener Anna Merab Richardson (left) on Tuesday. The book charters Richardson’s journey into discovering the secrets of life. In it she reminisces about her childhood on St. Maarten and core values she was taught as a child. The book will soon be published in the Dutch language with the aim of reaching a broader audience. Doran-York spent almost two hours talking with Richardson.

The minister told the author she “has made her country very proud.” Another source of pride for Doran-York was that Richardson is daughter of the well-known Alec the Butcher and is from Middle Region, a commonality they both shared. “Persons like Anna Mirab Richardson are very special and although not seeking the stage’ should also be greatly recognized on St. Maarten, their place of birth,” said Doran-York.
