A large cross-section of the community attended the St. Maarten Hindu Organisation’s five-day “Shiva Maha Purana Yagna,” a celebration that primarily centres around the Hindu god Shiva and goddess Parvati, but references and reveres all gods.
Visiting Pandit Dave Sahadeo and his kirtan group presided over the ceremonies, which started on Wednesday, August 8, and were held at the organisation’s Cole Bay Mandir in the Sun Insurance Building.
