Victims of fire in French Quarter receiving support

MARIGOT--The four families who were directly affected by the fire in the La Palmeraie building in French Quarter last Saturday are receiving assistance. In charge of the management of support is Corinne Helary-Planchon of the Collectivité’s Department of Solidarity and Families.

Support is being provided in three areas:

Food aid is provided in the form of vouchers for purchase of basic necessities for families who have been relocated, for which a full needs assessment is underway.

Psychological support: It is important to provide care for the most affected people to prevent the onset of trauma. A psychologist from the Association Trait d'Union was asked to intervene as quickly as possible.

The third area is support with the formalities with insurers. A social worker from the Collectivité and a lawyer from Trait d’Union are working on this.

An office is being set up in French Quarter in the Maison de Service au Publique (MSAP) to handle this support.
