UP’s 23 candidates ‘ready to work for the people'

United People’s Party (UP) leader Rolando Brison, leads the team of candidates, board members and supporters to hand in the party’s slate on Thursday.

PHILIPSBURG--United People’s (UP) Party slate of 23 candidates are ready to work for the people of St. Maarten, party leader Rolando Brison told reporters after the party’s full list of candidates was submitted to the Chairperson of the Central Voting Bureau Jason Rogers on Thursday. UP was the third party to submit its list.

  Brison heads the UP list as the #1 candidate; with surgeon and current Independent Member of Parliament (MP) Dr. Luc Mercelina as #2; businessman Omar Ottley is the #3 candidate; wife of former UP leader, suspended MP Theo Heyliger, Grisha Heyliger-Marten is the #4 candidate; Dr. Rhoda Arrindell is #5; Ludmila de Weever is #6; United Democrats (UD) MP Sidhart “Cookie” Bijlani is #7; Kevin Maingrette is #8; Lyndon Lewis is #9; Charles Richardson is #10; Eugene Heyliger is #11; Marlon Hodge is #12; Richard Patrick is #13; Cresburk Browne is #14; Jacqueline Peterson is #15; Jacques Heemskerk is #16;  Sjorensley Valies is #17; attorney Cornelis “Cor” Merx is # 18; Tom Louis-Juste is #19;  Educardo de Hay is #20; Early Charlemange is #21; Richard Panneflek is #22 and Francisco Lacroes rounds out the list at #23.
