UK Govt. funds new jetty for Sandy Ground

ANGUILLA--The United Kingdom (UK) Government has given 6,850,000 pounds sterling to the Government of Anguilla towards the cost of a new jetty at Road Bay, Sandy Ground. The project is being implemented by the Anguilla Air and Sea Ports Authority (AASPA) with contracted assistance from DLN Consultants who will aid with the delivery of the project.

  The AASPA is inviting bids for the construction of the jetty that will include compacted fill root to the jetty with geotextile, rock filter and armour covered slopes. The jetty will include 450  millimetres reinforced concrete steel case piles supporting a reinforced concrete superstructure with ramps for berthing ro-ro (roll-on/roll-off) vessels and berthing faces for lo-lo (lift-on/lift-off) vessels, including bollards, fenders and utilities. It will also have paved areas for access, storage of containers and general cargo.
