MARIGOT--The Gendarmerie is asking anyone who has information regarding a purse-snatching incident that took place in Marigot on Saturday, to contact the Gendarmerie.
On Saturday, June 15, at around 9:30am, while two people were sitting at a table on the terrace of a bar in Marigot, an individual stole the woman’s purse from the table. She attempted to get it back without success. The other person then pursued the thief and a confrontation ensued in which two shots were fired, but without injuries to anyone.
The thief got away and the victims reported the incident to the police. An investigation under the authority of the Basse-Terre Prosecutor's Office was opened and entrusted to the detective’s section in St. Martin.
