Trash dumping

Ministry of Public Housing, Environment, Spatial Development and Infrastructure VROMI issued a statement expressing concerns about illegal dumping of trash in several neighbourhoods. Infrastructure Management Department Head Claudius Buncamper said persons are exercising unacceptable behaviours that are causing a pile up of waste at public areas which set unwanted precedents. “Every time these areas are cleaned, another culprit exercises this type of poor example by disposing of their illegal waste in bulk, not even in the bin, but on the ground and surrounding areas. This is unacceptable and our residents have got to set a better example.” The Ministry continues to urge persons to dispose of large waste items such as stoves and couches as well as outdoor debris, being large branches, at the sanitary landfill.
