Tourism stakeholders who are part of TEATT’s and STB’s coronavirus-related customer service training.
PHILIPSBURG--The Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication (TEATT) and the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau (STB) are implementing a customer-service and COVID-19-awareness training specifically for taxi drivers.
Two companies – Mihet Consultancy and Training Professionals International (TPI) Firm – have been selected to conduct the training.
“The aim of these trainings is to equip our ‘ambassadors’ with the tools to continue serving our diverse clientele as we re-open St. Maarten. … The trainings will also comprise a comprehensive understanding of COVID-19 prevention, protection and safety measures,” said the TEATT Ministry in a press release on Thursday.
The first training began at the Port St. Maarten home-porting terminal on Tuesday, July 21, and will last until Wednesday, July 29.
The second phase of the training is slated to commence on Thursday, July 30, and will end on August 10.
The TEATT Ministry said a third phase is being developed in collaboration with the Justice Ministry and will cater to tour operators and Immigration officers.
