Three ships expected in Port on Boxing Day

HARBOUR--Boxing Day, December 26, will bring three cruise ships sailing into Great Bay, a sight not seen since monster Hurricane Irma hit the island on September 6.

Originally, two ships had scheduled calls for that day - Royal Caribbean International (RCI) ships Grandeur of the Seas and Jewel of the Seas. They will now be joined by Azamara Club Cruises Azamara Quest, Port St. Maarten announced today.

The three-ship days will follow a two-ship one. Independence of the Seas and Marella Celebration will be in port on Christmas Day, December 25.

The additional ship call on Boxing Day is due to the continuous efforts to increase cruise ship calls to the destination post-Irma, Port Management said in a press statement.

Azamara Club Cruises, a boutique upmarket cruise line, operates two 690 passenger ships, the Azamara Journey and the second being the Azamara Quest.
