The holidays have been made a little bit brighter for six persons on St. Eustatius. They each received a US $75 voucher to use at Duggins Supermarket & Hardware and Department Store from the Suriname-St. Eustatius Foundation.
Foundation secretary Dr. Sharon Veira and assistant treasurer teacher Hilary Underhout (both in photo) made the presentation on the NuStar/Statia terminal playground. Recipients were selected with the help of Rachel Spanner-Carty of the Social Affairs Department and Elizabeth Jones of Community Home Care. Funds for the vouchers are derived from food sales the foundation holds during the year. This giving-back project has been on the foundation’s calendar since its inception this year.
