TelCell to maintain 2G network today

POND ISLAND--TelEm Group mobile voice and data provider TelCell will be carrying out maintenance work on its 2G network today, Sunday, and advised its customers on how best to remain connected during these works.

Subscribers were notified via text messages about an interruption in their regular 2G service as a result of the maintenance work.

“Since the 2G service will be shut down for a while during the Sunday maintenance window we want to ensure customers have uninterrupted service by switching their mobiles to ‘auto’ until the works are completed,” TelEm Group Manager of Network Operations Julien Lake said in a press release.

Lake said the works are scheduled to begin at 1:00pm today end at approximately 6:00am Monday. He apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused.
