Businesses and residents of the upper section of Front Street say they are frustrated with taxi drivers parking in the “No Parking Zone” in front of Pasanggrahan Royal Guesthouse and on the sidewalk where the stanchions once prevented this illegal behaviour. This situation remains unchanged in spite of dialogue with taxi drivers and police, and continues to be a major sore point for all involved. Residents and businesses are eager for the Ministry of Infrastructure to replace the stanchions to curb parking on the sidewalks, allowing pedestrians to walk more freely as well as ending the blocking of business entrances.
